Karen Lewis is a well known designer, teacher, printer and author of several patterns and the book Wabi Sabi Sewing. She is based based on the edge of Leeds, Yorkshire, where she has a purpose-built workshop for printing fabrics (and classes), quilting and designing new fabric collections for Figo Fabrics.
Karen is also one third of The Thread House UK, along with Jo Avery and Lynne Goldsworthy, both well well regarded designers and stitchers. They run a very popular retreat and block of the month program - sorry, my BOM kits sold out very quickly.
In normal times she loves to travel all over the world teaching printing and quilting. When not working she can be found rambling around beautiful Yorkshire with her dog Scout, and family.
I am so pleased to be the Australian retailer for Karen's Fabric Club, a personal and standalone project by Karen, who personally handprints her whimsical, modern designs onto premium Figo solids.
Karen and I have agreed that I sell her products at the same price available to her UK and EU subscribers, and that the advantage to Australian customers will be the postage savings by having items shipped directly to Kate Quilt from Karen and I will distribute directly to Australian buyers. I am happy also to sell to New Zealand customers, with the appropriate adjustment in shipping.
As we came in mid-year, KLT Fabric Club 2021 Bundles 4, 5 and 6 are offered as standalone products in the shop.
KLT Fabric Club 2022 is now open for subscription, with six deliveries annually at two monthly intervals, I have split the cost over monthly payments. The shipping schedule is as follows:
There are three themed bundles available each month: Cool, Warm, and Neutral. The current listing is for Bundle 1, but subscription doesn't tie you into a single theme, you can choose you theme each time, or any combination, but as Karen hand screen prints the fabric to order, we must know in the month prior to delivery. I'll touch base with everyone prior to see what they want.
Subscription also entitles to you 10% off purchases from Karen's own store, and she is creating a private Facebook group for KLT Fabric Club members, with advice from Karen on how best to use your fabrics, and perhaps an exclusive project or two. :)
